National Learning Event for Policing Analysts and Researchers
Evidence-based and data led approaches to analysis: National Learning Event for Policing Analysts and Researchers
In person event: Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th February 2026, College of Policing, Ryton
Following the success of the last two annual events and our continued monthly Micro CPD sessions, we are pleased to invite you to attend our third event for intelligence analysts and researchers in policing, this year hosted by the newly established National Centre for VAWG and Public Protection (NCVPP).
The event will focus on evidence-based and data-driven approaches to analysis under Public Protection thematics with an exciting range of inputs from both internal and external speakers. Key topics we will cover throughout the event include:
- Responses to domestic abuse through a threat assessment dashboard and understanding the nuance of vulnerability
- The indicators of misogyny and how we can start to tackle the impact
- Importance and impact of analysis
- Understanding biological wellbeing
- Technological tools to support analysis
We will also be welcoming a guest speaker for a twilight session on the evening of 17th February: Killer Stories, what can we learn from the stories of serial killers. Further details on the twilight session will be available nearer the time.
This is event is free of charge to policing intelligence analyst and researchers (accommodation is not included but can be booked through the attached form), at the College of Policing in Ryton. Lunch, along with tea and coffee during breaks will be included. Registrations will open at 9am with the event running as follows:
- Day one: 10am to 5pm (Dinner will be available at a cost at the on-site restaurant prior to a Twilight session: 7pm to 8pm)
- Day two: 9am to 4.15pm
